In 2000, during my third year of the LLB Degree program, I became a Tutor at the University of Pretoria's Department of Private Law based on academic merit. I graduated top of my class in 2001, receiving the University of Pretoria Best Student Award and a bursary for the 2002 Master of Laws Degree program. After completing my LLM in 2002, I became a full-time Lecturer of Law at the University of Pretoria. From 2005 to 2007, I served as a Candidate Attorney at the University of Pretoria Legal Aid Clinic and worked as an External Examiner for the Department of Private Law at the University of South Africa. In 2008, I joined the General Bar Counsel as a practising Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. In February 2012, I became a Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Zimbabwe, handling high-profile matters in various areas of law. I have published articles in accredited journals and defended notable cases in Superior Courts in both South Africa and Zimbabwe. In March 2015, after completing statutory compulsory pupilage, I became a Partner at Scanlen and Holderness Solicitors, a leading law firm in Zimbabwe. In December 2015, I was honored as the Women Human Rights Defender of the Year 2015 by the Zimbabwe Women Lawyers Association, marking the first time a male recipient received the award, for my work in protecting the rights of women and children. In 2017, I established the Advocacy Centre for Private Prosecution in South Africa as its founding Director.
I serve as the Chairperson of the Investigating Committee and the Disciplinary Committee of the LPC responsible for overseeing investigations into allegations of professional misconduct within the legal profession. My role involves presiding over hearings and ensuring compliance with ethical standards related to the legal profession under the LPA, LPC Rules and the Code of Conduct. I work closely with stakeholders to uphold the integrity and accountability of the legal profession in South Africa.
I was appointed a Director for the Advocacy Centre for Private Prosecutions in Pretoria being the founder and Executive Director overseeing private prosecution matter for the Centre.
I was admitted into the Partnership of Scanlen and Holderness Solicitors with an interest of five per centrum (5 %) in the total interest of the business.
I was in the litigation department of the firm and specializing in Superior Courts litigation the drafting of pleadings, legal opinions, research and writing, handling a number of corporate portfolios.
Evaluations of course contents and draft examination papers with the specific objective of ensuring uniformity with the internationally expected standards. I am also play a legal advisory role to the Department of Intelligence and Security Studies.

As a Candidate Attorney I served on two main projects at the University of Pretoria Law Clinic. In the year 2005 - 2006 I was the project lawyer for the Access to Justice for Women and Children Project. The broad agenda was representation and rendering of legal advice to marginalized members of the Pretoria community. The project assisted mainly woman and children involved in divorces, evictions, contracts, domestic violence, maintenance and inheritance disputes. I was mainly involved with the actual court litigation.
In the year 2006 - 2007 I was involved with the Hatfield Criminal Court Project whose broad agenda was representation of the marginalized members of the Pretoria community who required legal representation involved in criminal litigations. The Hatfield Criminal Court Projects involved actual court appearances as defense for the accused in both trials and bail applications as well as the implementation of the Restorative Justice Programme where, especially young and first offenders were put on a diversion programme and rehabilitated in preparation of their re-integration into the community where the offences were committed.
As a Lecturer I was responsible for the Law of Person 110 and 120, the Law of Intellectual Property 320 and the Law of Damages
410. The Law of Persons covered the determination of legal subjectivity, the content thereof and the manner in which legal subjectivity is terminated. The Law of Intellectual Property covered the laws relating to designs, patents, inventions, copyrights, plant breeders rights and the law relating to competition. The Law of Damages covers the determination and quantification of delictual and contractual damages.
I was responsible for deciding on the scope and content of the courses, the study material to be used, planning the lecture presentations and presenting the lectures. My duties also included evaluation of the course content in liaison with other Universities, setting and marking examinations for the same courses. I had a student body of between 250-400 students at a time per module.
I was responsible for evaluation of the UNISA Law of Property study material and examination papers with the specific objective of ensuring uniformity with the standards of other Universities in South Africa and other countries. It was also my duty to mark and evaluate a predetermined percentage of the examination papers on the Law of Property. I would receive between 2000 and 3000 UNISA examination scripts per sitting from the whole world.
As a tutor I was responsible for assisting fellow students who had learning difficulties by presenting special tutorial to students in small groups at a time so that individual attention could be given to each student. I would also assist lecturers in presenting classes whenever they are not available and would do all general administrative support function for the Department including marking and logistical arrangements for examinations and test. I had a student body of between 300 and 500 students at a time per module.
